Facebook Hires its First-Ever Chief Marketing Officer

More than a year after going public, Facebook has hired its first-ever chief marketing officer.
The social network tapped Gary Briggs, former marketing chief at Google's Motorola Mobility, to lead its branding and marketing efforts, according to AdAge.

"Facebook isn't just a company. For more than a billion people, it's their connection to the friends and things they care about most. Telling the story of such an important and still very young brand is an incredible opportunity, and I cannot wait to get started," Briggs said in a statement to AdAge about his new role.
